These days, many RV dealers have some sort of RV accessory store that sits on site with their dealership. This is a convenient spot to pick up some starter supplies for your new rig. It is also easy to get overwhelmed and feel like you need to BUYALLTHETHINGS! Check out our list of what to buy at the RV dealer store before heading home with your new trailer.
Have you ever been to an RV dealer store? These stores typically share a physical space with dealership offices or whatnot. They aren’t usually gigantic but they definitely have some great accessories, tools, and upgrades that you might want to consider buying.
If you are looking for the items that will help you with your initial RV set-up, check out our list below of suggestions. You have all the time in the world to add the “fun” stuff to your camper, but the things below are what you’ll want to have on hand from the get-go.
What to Buy at the RV Dealer Store
2. Sewer Connector Kit (with Hoses)
4. Wheel Chocks
8. Damp Rid Moisture Eliminator
9. Spare Fuses
10. Tow Hitch (a bigger purchase but we HIGHLY recommend looking into a weight distributing hitch with sway control)
And before you pull out and head home…
If there’s one last bit of advice we can give you, it’s to make sure that before you leave the dealer, you have a thorough understanding of how everything on your new camper works. A new camper “orientation” is pretty standard when you pick up a new camper at the dealer. If this is not offered to you, you should request it. This orientation should include a complete walk-through of the inside and exterior of your RV. Discuss the hookups, the basic mechanisms and gadgets, and use this time to ask any questions you can think of. Don’t worry how silly they might sound. Any question is a valid question!

Great additions!
