Think celebrating Valentine’s Day in an RV is not romantic? You’d be wrong!  Spending Valentine’s Day in your home-on-wheels can be just as fun (if not more!) as celebrating it anywhere else. Not only can you avoid the busy restaurants with long wait times, but your RV makes the perfect intimate setting to impress your loved one with whatever romantic activity that you’re planning. Can’t think of any? Here are several clever and relatively easy ideas for how you can celebrate Valentine’s Day in your RV.

Add Valentine’s Decor to Your RV

Valentine’s decor can go a long way to add a bit of sweetness to your RV.

A few wonderful decoration ideas include:

You will definitely want to skip the candles or keep them outside and away from your rig. Never have an open flame in a camper as it poses a big fire risk.

Head to a Romantic Destination with Your Camper

For couples that plan to take an RV trip this Valentine’s Day but still want it to be an experience worth remembering, I’ve got just the answer! How about surprising him or her by visiting a romantic destination this year? It’s entirely up to you where that may be, but it certainly wouldn’t hurt to visit someplace warm.

Popular romantic camping destinations include:

  • Beachy locales
  • Camping in a vineyard or near wineries/wine trail (a wine tasting can be a fun activity!)
  • Lake views
  • Secluded woodsy sites
  • Nearby a town or city you have been hoping to explore

Enjoy a Dinner and a Movie

How about skipping the crowded restaurant this Valentine’s Day by bunkering down in your RV for the evening? You can prepare a favorite meal for your loved one or keep it simple and order delivery.

Then follow it up with a romantic comedy or a chick flick. But keep in mind that you may not be able to stream a movie if you don’t have reliable wifi, so you’ll want to have it on DVD or downloaded ahead of time.

Bake a Dessert for Your Sweetheart

Maybe you don’t want to worry about preparing a big meal this Valentine’s Day? Instead, you and your Valentine could bake one or two delicious desserts and then indulge in them together. It doesn’t get any sweeter than that!

Don’t feel like baking? Chocolate covered strawberries are always a super easy (and delicious) DIY treat option!

If all else fails, build a warm campfire and make some s’mores!

Escape Back to Nature

Most people that own RVs are trying to escape the hustle and bustle of city life, even when it’s the holidays. If this sounds a lot like you, consider spending an intimate afternoon together by getting some fresh air while hiking on a scenic trail.

Pack some food and enjoy a romantic picnic at a pretty spot on the trail.

Some of our favorite adventures have been exploring trails, scenic overlooks and coastlines!

Catch a Sunset

This is actually one of my favorite activities, whether I’m camping or at home. I love kicking back and watching the sun go down. Find a pretty spot and watch the sun set together.

Spend the Evening Underneath the Stars

Spend this Valentine’s evening by laying back and looking up at the heavens. Gazing through a telescope also wouldn’t be a bad idea if you have one. Don’t forget to grab a bottle of wine that you both can sip on together. But if it’s too cold for that, then a delicious cup of hot chocolate while cuddling underneath a cozy blanket will do the trick.

Make a Scavenger Hunt for their Gift

If you enjoy having a bit of fun while finding their own Valentine’s gift, a scavenger hunt may be something worth trying. You can set out clues around your RV that will eventually take your loved one to the prize. Travel trailers and motorhomes aren’t exactly spacious, so you can take the game outside around your campsite as well.

Create a Romantic Playlist

Whether you make up a playlist of your partner’s favorite songs, or you make a collection of favorite love songs, a romantic playlist is a sweet gesture. It also provides the perfect background music for your dinner and evening together!
