Typical Clearwater Weather

Clearwater, Florida is a coastal city that’s located just west of Tampa, along the Gulf of Mexico. Camping is available throughout the year there, but you need to know a few things before you plan your visit.

  • The spring (March-May) and autumn seasons (September-October) are arguably the best times to go camping in the area, with pleasant sunny and warm temperatures.
  • Even during the winter months (November-February), it’s still great camping weather, with temperatures that average to about 60 degrees during the day and hardly ever dropping below 40 degrees at night.
  • The summer months (June-August) leading into the fall can be another story. Temperatures are typically in the 80’s and 90’s most days, but it’s the humidity and rainy season that you have to look out for.

It’s not uncommon for afternoon showers to come in out of nowhere most days between the months of June and August, but they usually clear out fairly quick. Hurricane season is another factor that you have to keep in mind, which runs from June until the beginning of November.
