You’ve probably reached the point in your life where you’ve enjoyed camping for a number of years, but now you want to share the experience with your kids so that they love it just as much as you do. However, traditional deep woods camping experience may not be something that your kids would necessarily consider fun. Let’s dig into the best campgrounds for kids!
Fear not! There are hundreds of campgrounds across the country that offer a number of exciting activities and cozy accommodations to keep you and your kids happy. Here’s a look at just a few of the best campgrounds across the country that your kids are sure to love.
Buffalo Lake Camping Resort
Montello, Wisconsin
The Buffalo Lake Camping Resort has 110 camping sites with both tent and RV camping. Just a few of the onsite amenities include a heated swimming pool, volleyball courts, horseshoe pits, and an arcade. There are also nearby lakes and rivers that are suitable for swimming and fishing.
Ocean Lakes Family Campground
Myrtle Beach, South Carolina
At the Ocean Lakes Family Campground, you’ll find as many as 859 campsites along with an ocean beachfront that stretches out for nearly a mile. The campground features large playgrounds, skate park, volleyball courts, bocce ball, and of course, plenty of beach activities. While you’re there make sure you check-in at the Ocean Lakes’ Sandy Harbor Family Fun Center, which has a large pool, kiddie pool, splash zone, and a lazy river.
The Vineyards Campground and Cabins
Grapevine, Texas
If your kids love the outdoors along with outdoor activities The Vineyards Campground and Cabins down in Grapevine, Texas, has everything you’ll need. Choose between tent and RV camping, both of which are accompanied by plenty of beautiful scenery and hiking trails to explore. You’ll find sandy beaches, lakefronts for swimming, kayaking, and fishing. This is one of my favorite out of all of the best campgrounds for kids.
Clay’s Park Resort
North Lawrence, Ohio
At Clay’s Park Resort your family will be in for a wonderful time with plenty of activities and things to do while the campground offers both tent and RV camping. The campgrounds have basketball and volleyball courts, cornhole, miniature golf, kayaking, and canoeing. But that’s not all. How does ziplining down into a lake sound, or heading down one of their two 150 foot waterslides?
Campland on the Bay
San Diego, California
Your family is in for a treat when heading to the Campland on the Bay in San Diego, California. Each of their campsites is extremely roomy for both tent and RV campers. Their “supersites” include a private patio, a grill and jacuzzi, and a wildlife sanctuary that’s close by. Some of the activities that you’ll find there include bike and watercraft rentals, myriad sporting events, sandcastle building contests, a skateboard park, arts and crafts, along with yoga.
